E - Educate yourself and check your own moles monthly using a full-length mirror or a helpful partner. The American Academy of Dermatology offers free education and information about moles, including an explanation of the "ABCDEs of melanoma.Consult a board-certified dermatologist with questions about your moles.
F - A first-degree (parent, brother, sister, or child) family history of melanoma and/or having Fifty (50) or more moles puts you at greater risk for developing melanoma. Talk to your dermatologist to learn more about other specific risk factors.
G - Wear UV-protective sun glasses with 100% UV protection and side-shields to help prevent eye damage (e.g., photo-keratitis, cataracts and cancer) to better protect the sensitive skin around the eyes.
